It has been another busy year for NewSpec with 2016 somehow managing to feel like our busiest yet……and as always, it is hard to believe another year is drawing to a close.

We were delighted to receive our first order for an Hitachi HF5000 (200 kV Corrected TEM/STEM) this month, the largest microscope (by any measure) to be installed by Hitachi in Australia. This will also be NewSpec's biggest single project to date, and we very much look forward to working with Prof Roger Wepf and his group at the Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis at The University of Queensland to install this microscope in 2017.

We are also very excited to be installing our first Solstice at UNSW in 2017, although we have many Spitfire systems installed around Australia and New Zealand, this will be our first single box amplifier. Again, we are looking forward to working with Prof Gavin Conibeer and his team to make that installation a success next year.
